Availability
Q: What is the lead time on a typical piece? How long will it take to complete my order?
A: We always endeavour to complete commissioned pieces in a timely fashion. Once you have decided on the type of seat, design and materials to be used, the piece will usually be completed within 28 days (subject to the availability of the required components). Of course if you have asked us to supply a particularly hard to find seat there may be an additional delay while we source this.
Q: Do you have any completed examples of your industrial art furniture already made which I can purchase?
A: We usually have some prototype models in stock which may be available for sale. Please contact us for more information
Q: Can I view the piece before I commit to buying it?
A: Every piece we make is a commission piece - i.e. made specifically for you. When you confirm your order you will pay a deposit which is not refundable. If you should then decide not to purchase the final piece for any reason it will remain property of Driving Suites. However, we keep examples of our most recent prototypes at our workshop. If you would like to arrange a viewing then please contact us using the form below.
Built to Order
Q: Can I really request any seat I like? Perhaps one taken from a Ferrari Enzo or a Pagani Zonda? Or even an Austin Allegro?
A: We will do our best to find the perfect seat to match your requirements. Some seats will be harder to find and more expensive than others but we firmly believe that nothing is impossible. We use a large network of suppliers of both new and recycled vehicle seating.
Q: I'd like a chair that looks just like one I saw in a local gallery/studio/office. Is that possible?
A: We will build a piece just for you and to your specification. When our designers are planning your new piece, your personal input is crucial. While we do not condone the creation of copies of famous artworks, we have been known to produce pieces inspired by others.
Q: I like the style of your furniture but do you make pieces without using car seats?
A: Although car seat based pieces are our speciality, we can create pieces without them. We are happy to produce seats made to meet your requirements and can work with almost any material (wood, plastic, rubber or leather for example) although metal is our speciality.
Pricing
Q: How much does each piece cost to purchase?
A: Every piece is individually priced during the planning stage. Prices vary depending on the type of seat used and the materials and labour involved in constructing the piece. Contact us for a more details and to discuss your requirements.
Q: How much is the initial deposit?
A: The deposit will be a percentage of the total price quoted at the planning stage (usually worked out at 30%). The deposit must be paid before the order will be accepted and it is not refundable. Once the piece is completed, the balance must be paid before delivery will be made.
Shipping
Q: How much do you charge for delivery?
A: We always endeavour to keep our delivery charges reasonable, but the delivery charge will vary and depends upon the size and type of the piece and the distance. Our main workshop is centrally located in Nottingham and you are welcome to arrange collection if you prefer.
Q: What about International delivery? Can you arrange shipping to my country?
A: We will happily arrange delivery to any country. Please contact us today to discuss your requirements.
